Picture this,
A couple of mates with some near new 4WD's, a tray full of fresh camping gear to test out, no phone reception and a 22nd birthday party. This was our very first camping trip in our Triton with our camping set up, HUGE DAY!
We chose Seal Rocks, NSW for this trip. Just over 3 hours north of Sydney and just south of Forster. This campground is privately run and situated next to the Myall Lakes National Park. It has grassy protected sites situated behind a sand dune. Facilities include: hot showers, toilets and a cafe that's run in peak seasons. The campground has no phone reception as far as I am aware. That might be a good thing for you or not, I don't know. The best part as far as I'm concerned is the 4WD beach a stones throw from the campground.
So after our first night camping and a few late arrivals after the work day has finished, what better to do than set up shop for breakfast on the beach with awnings and bean bags?
About 10 of us made the move down to the beach. The access track to the beach is tight with built up sand walls either side. It twists and turns down to the beach but isn't very long at all. Be careful as there is one track for entry and exit so take it easy. Protected from northerly to north-east winds it is perfect for a nice day at the beach with the awning out. This beach isn't patrolled so be very careful if you do venture into the water. After a roasting at the beach we retreaded back to the campsite. At the particular time we stayed at the campground they allowed fires (Just check with the office when you book). Once we got that sorted we settled in for the night and the rest is history.
